This was to be a very special occasion not just for us as a group but also Ballinasloe as a town, as it was to be the last Mayor’s Awards to be hosted by Ballinasloe Town Mayor, Mike Kelly.

A great night was being had by everyone who attended this event, and when the time came to announce the winners of each catagory and our name, Galway East Life Support, was announced it was with tremendous pride and honour that we were able to accecpt the award for Social And Community Support.

Aughrim Youth Club Make A Donation

Towards the end of May, G.E.L.S. received a call from a member of the Aughrim Youth Club. They rang us to inform us that the young people of the group organised a quiz night and that the money that they raised from this event was going to  be donated to charity. The charity that the young people of Aughrim chose was Galway East Life Support. We were very much taken back by this and we were quite delighted to be able to go over to Aughrim on Friday May 30th to accept this donation from them and to meet these people and to express our thanks and gratitude for this donation.
