The day is fast approaching for this years main fundraising event. On July 18th 2015, the 3rd Annual GELS 3 Town Charity Cycle will take place.
Last Year we saw over 150 people take to the roads and cycle one of two routes, and this year we have planned to make it even bigger and better. We had 2 routes last year and we now have 3 to choose from this year. A 20 km for the family, a 60 km for the more active cyclist and the 100 km for the more accomplished cyclist.
The day will start in The Birchgrove Bar with registration commencing at 10 am. The first set of cyclists to leave will be those taking part in the 100 km route and they will depart The Birchgove at 11:30 am. Next up is the 60 km route at 12 pm and then the 20 km route will head out at 12:30 pm,
Each route will have designated pit stops for people to re-energise, take in some food and water and get their strength back
The finishing point for each rout is where they started, The Birchgrove Bar. PJ, his family and staff will have a BBQ starting at 6pm with live entertainment planned for the night also.
Playing on the night will be local band Pacifica, This is a local band who are very well known around Ballinasloe, Loughrea and Athlone. They will have the fantastic voice of Rachel Goode with them on the night. As well as Pacifica they have DJ Stephen Blake planned also. To say this guy is entertaining is an understatement.
We were privilaged to have both these act support us last year and we are only delighted they have decided to do the entertainment again this year.
On the night we have our raffle with many spot prizes up for grabs. The main prize is A choice of either a male or female bicycle + helmet + A years membership to Ballinasloe Cycling Club, this amazing prize has been supplied by Barry Taylor of Taylors Cycles in Ballinasloe and we cannot thank him enough for his generosity!
If anybody has any questions, needs more information, would like to help volunteer and run the cycle or even would like to donate a spot prize we can be contacted by:
